The unmistakable profile of the 1 Series Coupe, which represents the purest expression of BMW DNA is now sharper than ever. The new design of the front fascia on the 128i includes BMW’s innovative Air Curtain that counters turbulence near the wheel arches and so reduces the aerodynamic resistance of the vehicle. New exterior design accents have been incorporated into the headlight and tail light clusters. In the interior, new switches and controls have a more refined look and feel. The updated 1 Series Coupe will go on sale this Spring.

BMW 128i in NJ

The 2012 BMW 1-Series leads the upscale small car class with its high end performance, capability and luxurious interior. The 2012 1-Series lives up to its BMW name by providing drivers with a dominant engine powered by rear-wheel drive that adds to the BMW’s racing feel. The 2012 BMW 128i Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces an impressive 230 horsepower. Surprising for its power, the 128i achieves an EPA-estimated 18 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Convenience and technology features are abundant throughout the luxurious interior. The automatic climate control allows for different temperature controls and includes a micro-filter and automatic air recirculation, left/right temperature control. Other standard convenience features include a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, power front windows with “one-touch” up and down, cruise control, rain-sensing windshield wipers and automatic headlight control. The leather-wrapped sport steering wheel features audio and hands-free phone controls.

Driving is smooth and controlled with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which includes Brake Fade Compensation, Start-off Assistant, Brake Drying and Brake Stand-by features. The 2012 BMW 128i in NJ is equipped with an extensive list of safety features, including four-wheel anti-lock brakes, side seat mounted airbags, curtain first and second row overhead airbags, airbag occupancy sensor and driveline traction control.

Circle BMW, NJ’s premier BMW dealership, is proud to announce that the baby of the BMW family, the 1-Series, is expected to debut some grown up changes in its 2011 model.

The small car is getting a bigger engine along with other 2011 models.  Early reports are citing that the 2011 model will feature the new single-turbocharged “N55″ six-cylinder engine, which contains BMW’s Valvetronic technology and direct fuel injection.

The car will feature a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), the first application of a DCT with the N55 in-line six.

The car is receiving high marks in early test drives- especially on the race track.  Automobile Magazine took the 135i out to the race track, where they enjoy the car’s “quick, thrusty upshifts in manual mode” and described the car as “nimble.” They noted that the car’s transmission changes to lower gears quickly.

The engine of the car, a 300-hp N55 engine, reaches its 300 lb-ft torque peak 200 rpm sooner than the N54, allowing for smoother acceleration.  Car testers report that the six-speed manual car is capable of the same 0-to-60-mph acceleration times as last year’s model, but dual-clutch automatic cars pick up two-tenths on N54-powered  models- 5.0 seconds for the 2011 135i coupe versus 5.2 seconds for the 2010 model.

The engine of the 2011 model also helps save gas on the manual models.  The new engine, along with revised gearing, improves stick-shift models by 3 mpg, now getting 23 mpg.

The 2011 135i, which goes on sale by the end of May 2011, will be available for the same base price of the 2010 model: $37,800 for the coupe and $42,100 for the convertible.

April 29, 2010 through May 2, 2010. Hosted by the New Jersey Road Runners Club and the City of Long Branch, the 14th Annual New Jersey Marathon Festival is a four day event that includes a Chef’s Challenge, exposition, family fun races, marathon, half marathon and team relay.

NJ Marathon Race Director and President of the NJ Road Runners Club, Art Castellano, said, “We are expecting more than 10,000 athletes to participate in the various races and activities throughout the weekend. A U.S.A. Track & Field-certified course, the NJ Marathon begins and ends on the Long Branch oceanfront promenade, just north of Pier Village and the Ocean Place Resort & Spa. The course turns inland just past the one mile mark and tours through the Jersey Shore towns of Long Branch, Monmouth Beach and Oceanport. Runners will travel through eight distinct neighborhoods and four business districts.
